| MetaStar, Incorporated is a non-profit health care quality improvement organization based in Madison, Wisconsin. For nearly 30 years MetaStar has been assuring cost effective, quality health care based on extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of quality improvement, data analysis, and cost containment. Through the use of comparative data, science-based indicators, and collaborative relationships with health care professionals we strive toward the improvement of processes and outcomes of care. MetaStar effects positive change in the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care through its Health Care Quality Improvement Projects. The projects involve partnerships with health care providers, business coalitions, consumers, insurers, and other health care agencies. Through data and pattern analysis areas are identified in which patient care can be significantly improved, costs can be decreased and better health care value can be achieved.
MetaStar offers a variety of services designed to contain health care costs while improving the quality of health care provided to consumers. These services include data analysis, health data validity audits, independent medical case review, claims auditing, HEDIS® Compliance Auditing, and quality improvement projects. We are able to analyze and interpret health care data from national and local databases which can be used to assist with purchasing decisions as well as for understanding cost and quality issues. We also provide utilization and quality of care review to determine appropriateness of medical services and settings and to assess the quality of care provided to a patient.

in 1997 in order to formally address quality improvement and standardize basic key
processes essential to the company’s overall quality mission. Promega achieved its
first ISO certification in March 1998. Today Promega uses the ISO system as the
infrastructure to organize the standards, policies, and basic work instructions for
designing, manufacturing, and delivering quality products, services and information. The
quality system is the method used to deliver this type of value and service to our
customers. The corporate focus is on continuous improvement. We do this using
monitoring and measurement tools. These tools give Promega the ability to determine if we
are delivering what our customers want and need.
In October 2003 Promega will seek certification to the new ISO9000:2000 standard. The
new standard places emphasis on measuring the effectiveness of internal quality processes
in meeting the requirements of our business. Promega maintains a Corporate Scorecard on
its internal website. It makes our measures against our quality goals and other metrics
easily viewable by all employees.
